Moar Abyss!
Finally, right?
This part of the game consisted mostly of squees for Guy and trying to contain my annoyance at Luke's self-pity party, because it IS understandable.
And then - Ion. Got kidnapped. AGAIN? That boy needs to learn a knockout spell or SOMETHING. For someone who's supposedly one of the most powerful mages in the game, he sure gets himself kidnapped a lot. The skit that happens when they walk into the cathedral cracked me up - even the other characters are a little annoyed that Ion keeps getting kidnapped. Naive indeed XD
Also, you know that the game even thinks Ion gets kidnapped too much when rescuing him is THAT EASY. A couple minor puzzles and a few easy fights... not even a boss battle? Maybe I'm just overleveled. Or maybe they're planning on ambushing me somewhere else :|
Keterburg! So many minigames~! So much time spent on the walkthrough XD
Jade's backstory didn't surprise me much, but the fact that Nephry picked Luke of all people to "keep her brother in check" makes me a tad suspicious... And I wish we as an audience knew exactly how much the party told her when they recounted what happened.
Here would be that ambush I thought was going to happen - except we don't actually get a boss battle, just Guy freaking out and going nuts. I knew that curse slot would come back to bite us. Good thing it can get taken care of pretty quick.
Reactions to Peony: Ohai. You're pretty - "MY JADE"? FFFFFFFF HAHAHAHAHA They aren't even TRYING anymore, are they?
Reactions to Guy: FINALLY. I knew it was something to do with being noble or whatevs, but at least we've got the whole story now.
Anise's perpetual annoyance with Ion makes me want to hug her. Resident Non-Action Guy he may be, but him tagging along is going to cause trouble. Also, the walkthrough told me to stop by Malkuth's military headquarters and collect the Ancient Scroll... which is a REALLY poorly written "sonnet" given that it's not a sonnet at all (it has too many lines and too many syllables per line).
Dist is amazing at tantrums, is all I have to say about him XD And I finally get my boss battle :3
It's a little difficult to navigate this world by sea OR by land. That's pretty much my only complaint about the mechanics of this game. I keep accidentally going to the wrong cities. I think I hit Baticul and Belkend before I finally found Sheridan.
So... after fighting a giant lizard and nearly getting arrested, now I have an airplane! Sweet.
